This is the second in a series of three books covering the story of the Texas-Mexican frontier from 1836-1842. The first was published in 1963 under the title of After San Jacinto: The Texas Mexican Frontier, 1836-1841. The current book covers the story of the year 1842, commencing with the Vasquez raid upon San Antonio and concluding with the return of the Somervell expedition from the Rio Grande after it had captured and levied requisitions upon Laredo and Guerrero.
